Below you will find instructions for using PetFiler. If you cannot find a solution to your problem, please contact us through the Feedback and Support section of the app or by using the contact form.

About PetFiler

PetFiler is designed to work on as many devices as possible, not just on mobile. PetFiler identifies the device you are using and adjusts the contents to give you the best experience regardless of the device and size of the screen. This is why PetFiler is web-based and not an app.

You can add PetFiler to the homescreen of your phone or tablet using the instructions in the next section.

Android

  1. Go to www.petfiler.com and log in.
  2. Tap the menu icon (three dots) in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. In the menu, choose “Add to home screen”.
  4. Enter or edit the name for the shortcut.
  5. The icon will appear on your home screen and you can drag and reposition it anywhere you like.

Apple iOS (iPhone and iPad)

  1. Open Safari, go to www.petfiler.com and log in.
  2. Tap the Share button (square with and arrow pointing upwards) on the toolbar.
  3. Choose “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Enter or edit the name for the shortcut.
  5. The icon will appear on your home screen and you can drag and reposition it anywhere you like.
  6. You will need to login again once you tap the home screen icon, but should not have to do it again afterwards.
To redeem a campaign code:
  1. Create an account.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Go to your user account by selecting 
  4. Select the Subscription icon 
  5. Enter your code at the bottom of the page.

Managing your account

You can create an account and sign in using your Google or Facebook account or by using a separate email and password.

Sign up using Google or Facebook

1. Go to http://www.app.petfiler.com
2. Select either the Google or Facebook button.
3. You will be prompted to sign in to your Google or Facebook account unless you are already signed in and then redirected back to PetFiler.
4. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
6. Select “Register” to begin your free 30 day trial.

Create an account without using Google or Facebook

1. Go to http://www.app.petfiler.com
2. Press the “Not yet registered?” link under the Facebook and Google buttons.
3. Fill in the required account information.
4. Accept the terms and conditions.
5. Select “Register” to begin your free 30 day trial!

Log in using Google or Facebook

1. Go to http://www.app.petfiler.com
2. Select either the Google or Facebook button.
3. You will be prompted to log in to your Google or Facebook account unless you are already logged in.
4. You will be redirected back to PetFiler and be logged in.

Log in with a separate email and password without using Google or Facebook

1. Go to http://www.app.petfiler.com
2. Enter the email address you used to create your PetFiler account.
4. Enter your password.
5. Select “Log in”.

1. Press the logout icon 
2. You will be asked to confirm logging out.

You can add up to 10 pets to PetFiler. The number of pets does not affect the cost of your subscription.

Subscription

1. Go to your user account by tapping the user account icon .
2. Select the credit card icon  (“Subscription” in the menu on desktop).
3. Select a plan.
4. Select “Create subscription”.
5. Fill out your card details in the pop-up window.
6. Confirm your subscription by selecting “Subscribe” or cancel by pressing the X in the upper right corner of the pop-up.

We accept card payments through Stripe, a global and secure provider of online payments.  You can read more about them here.  At the moment you can pay with almost any credit or debit card, such as Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard Debit/Credit and American Express. Other payment methods are not available right now.

Adding, editing, and removing a pet

1. Create an account and log in.
2. On the home screen, select the add pet icon 
3. Fill in the pet’s information.
4. Confirm by selecting “Submit”.

1. Go to the pet’s profile by first selecting the pet you wish to edit and then selecting 
2. Select the Edit profile icon 
3. Select “Edit”.
4. Make any changes you want and then select “Update” or “Cancel” to discard the changes.

1. Go to the pet’s profile by first selecting the pet you wish to edit and then selecting the first tile on the dashboard (the one with the pet’s name on it).
2. Select the Delete Profile icon (garbage bin).
3. Select “Delete profile”.
4. Type in your pet’s name and press “Delete” to confirm. The profile will be set to obsolete for 90 days, after which, the profile and all associated records will be permanently deleted.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. No credit card information required at signup.
